There are various forms of evidence that can be utilized to show that a client is totally disabled. The majority of this evidence comes from medical records, examinations and reports. Both treating physicians and examining physicians have a right to submit written reports which will describe a client’s disability and all of the tests that were done to determine that a person is unable to return to work due to a physical or mental condition. One of the most important tests is a functional capacity examination (FCE), which can be done by either a treating doctor or an examining doctors and sometimes the Social Security Claims Office or a Judge will request that a client be examined for functional capacity. Generally speaking, this tests determines the physical limitations and abilities of a client who is assuming a claim for disability benefits.
