Premises Liability Accidents: Premises liability is the area of law that gives the owners of stores and other public accommodations the legal responsibility for injuries that occur because they did not take reasonable care to make their property safety. The most common type of premises liability injury is a slip and fall injury. These injuries are usually the result of improper maintenance or construction on the part of the premises owner.
Premises liability claims may also be made against property owners who fail to provide adequate security on the premises. Property owners generally have the responsibility of anticipating hazards and should be responsible for maintaining their premises in a safe condition. All too often, however, they clean up or fix the danger only after an injury occurs, thus removing the “evidence”.
