Juvenile Crimes in New Jersey

A juvenile is defined as anybody who is less than 18 years of age at the time of the offense.  In certain circumstances, even a juvenile offender in New Jersey can be prosecuted as an adult in cases involving serious offenses.  However, in most juvenile matters the proceedings are handled by a Superior Court Judge designed to hear these specific cases and the proceedings are sealed from public disclosure.  If you or a family member are charged with a juvenile offense, it is important to contact an experienced attorney as soon as possible so that your rights can be protected.  In many instances, juvenile matters can be successfully resolved by conference with the Prosecutor resulting in an appropriate disposition and no criminal record on behalf of the involved juvenile.
